Constitution
Full Rules of the Club
Name
The name of the Club shall be Letchworth Amateur Swimming Club.
Objects
The objects of the Club shall be:
- To promote amateur swimming, water polo, diving, and other aquatic sports
- To provide facilities for the practice and enjoyment of these sports
- To organize competitions and social events for members
- To foster community spirit and healthy competition
Member
Membership shall be open to all persons regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, sexual orientation, marriage and civil partnership, and pregnancy and maternity, subject to the capacity of the Club.
All members must abide by the Club’s constitution, rules, and codes of conduct.
Resignation
Any member may resign from the Club by giving written notice to the Secretary. Resignation does not entitle the member to a refund of fees paid.
Expulsion & Disciplinary Action
The Committee may suspend or expel any member whose conduct is deemed detrimental to the Club’s interests or who breaches the constitution or codes of conduct.
All disciplinary procedures will follow Swim England guidelines and natural justice principles.
Committee
The Club shall be managed by a Committee consisting of elected officers including Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, and other positions as determined by the AGM. Committee members serve for one year and are eligible for re-election.
Annual General Meeting (AGM)
The AGM shall be held annually within 15 months of the previous AGM. All members will receive at least 21 days’ notice. The AGM will receive reports, elect officers, and conduct other business as required.
